How to use PC Manager, the Microsoft app that imitates CCleaner and promises to increase Windows performance

microsoft released its own Windows cleanup tool, PC Manager, a few days ago. Initially, the beta of the application was only available in Chinese, but now it is already adapted to English. Next, we will teach you how to get the most out of it.

The first thing to say is that with this app we can analyze and delete those files that we don’t need to save space on our PC. That is, it is an alternative to CCleaner.

How to download and use PC Manager

To start using the tool you have to download it at this link. We must bear in mind that it is compatible with Windows 10 (from version 1809 onwards) and Windows 11.

Once the application is open, at the top we have a summary of the percentage of memory used at that moment and the total size occupied by the temporary files on our computer. through the button ‘Boost’ we can make the tool delete all those temp files in one go.

Via ‘Health check’ we can select the elements we want the tool to remove, like temporary files, the browser cache, log files, etc. With this function it is also possible to disable programs that run at system startup.

One of the most useful things we can do in PC Manager is locate all files larger than 10 MB, 50 MB, 100 MB and 1 GB on the system, we can also filter by file type, be it documents, images, compressed folders, videos, audio and others.

We can also manage the processes that we have open on the computer as if it were the Task Manager, but in a fairly simple way.

Finally, the application has some security options. Thus, for example, if we select the option ‘Scan’, the tool will search for malicious elements on our computer. PC Manager doesn’t scan your computer by itself, but instead invokes Windows Defender to find potentially unwanted files.
