Advertising and banners have become an extremely valuable commodity today, and developers are increasingly looking at ways to make the technology a more profitable business.

More precisely, they explained that opening the start menu in the Windows 11 operating system brings up a notification alerting users to relevant content.

When the notification is selected, ads appear about OneDrive, which is the company’s cloud storage system. This would be the way in which this new type of advertising is being tested.

The ad takes it upon itself to encourage users to create a new account that has 5Gb of storage space and then purchase 100Gb.

Testing is available for version Windows 11 Buil 25227so only a few users can access it.

To deactivate the function it is only necessary go to the Lock Screen section, choose between Image or Presentation and disable the box “show curious facts, recommendations, tips and more on my lock screen”.
