Google does not give up on video games: the company already presents a new ally, after the failure of Stadia

Google Cloud has partnered with Indian startup SuperGaming to offer SuperPlatform, a gaming engine video game which aims to support developers globally who need cloud services such as managing their live operations, server scaling or marketing.

After the recent closure of Stadia, Google’s cloud gaming service, the platform has sought new approaches in the industry, as is the case with SuperPlatform with which, together with SuperGaming, it intends to offer tools so that developers can “maintain, optimize and scale their games”.

In this sense, the SuperPlatform license will make it easier for developers manage live operations such as matchmaking, saving progress and player data, doing analytics, server scaling, or even marketing.

Specifically, as SuperGaming has explained, the Indian startup used SuperPlatform to promote its own games. Nevertheless, in 2019 the company decided to expand and began to license the service to other developers.

At that time SuperGaming used Amazon Web Services for actions in the cloud, however, its relationship with Google Cloud began when in 2020 the company decided to use Google services to save “a significant amount”, as clarified the SuperGaming Co-Founder and CEO Roby Johnin an interview for TechCrunch.

Finally, SuperGaming and Google Cloud have ended up working together as an independent software provider for SuperPlatform. Thus, Roby John has highlighted that Google Cloud already powers 70 percent of its top customers and has added that he is “very excited” to bring his platform to Google.
