People share their BeReal 2022 recap videos. Here’s how to watch your videos

It’s almost the end of the year and that means it’s time for roundups of all our favorite social media apps.

2022 was the year that social media newcomer BeReal stepped into the spotlight. So a summary of our moments in the app is a welcome addition.

BeReal users can now look back on their BeReal moments thanks to the Recap Video feature.

The app collects all your 2022 honest news from your BeReal memories in one video summary.

This year was a big one for the French social media app, which dominated social media conversations during major world events such as the Queen’s funeral.

If you’ve already noticed that your social feeds are filled with your friends’ BeReal collection videos, here’s how to get involved:

How do I make my BeReal 2022 recap video?

1. Open the BeReal app and tap your profile picture at the top right
2. Select “See all my memories”
3. Tap the icon next to the calendar
4. The app may prompt you to update the app at this point. Select “Update App” to update the app
5. After the update, open the app again and repeat the first three steps
6. Select ‘Create my 2022 throwback video’.
7. You can be put on a waiting list before you receive your video, but it won’t take long for the app to notify you when your recap video is ready
8. Once your video is ready, you can share your video digest on other social media platforms

Last month, Spotify has begun releasing its annual Spotify Wrapped roundup feature, which allows users to view and share their top artists, tracks and genres from throughout the year.

This week, Instagram released a brand new Reels template called 2022 Recap that allows people to reflect on memories shared through the app this year.
