Xiaomi: the MIUI 14 operating system will be implemented on 9 more models, including the Xiaomi Mi 11 series

The last layer of customization of the operating system of XiaomiMIUI 14, will be implemented in nine other company devices, including the Xiaomi Mi 11 series, in addition to the flagship models that have already confirmed this ‘software’ in their Chinese ROMs.

The technology company presented in China the new version of its MIUI 14 operating system, based on Android 13, on December 12. It came with features like up to 60% improvement in fluidity (comparing it with its previous version) or the reduction of the ‘firmware’ by 23 percent.

Although the global presentation will take place in the first months of 2023, MIUI 14 is already included in the new flagship devices, the Xiaomi 13 Pro and the Xiaomi Watch, that the company released along with the operating system. Other flagship terminals of the brand will also incorporate it, such as the Xiaomi 12S Pro, the 12S Ultra and the Redmi K50. However, Xiaomi reported that this new version would be updated on more devices soon.

Now, Xiaomi has advanced that the stable update to MIUI 14 is available for nine of the company’s smartphones and is expected to be released “Coming Soon”, although the departure date has not been specified. These terminals will get MIUI 14 based on both Android 13 and the previous version Android 12 due to the age of some models.

On the other hand, there are five models that will not have more MIUI updates as it appears in Xiaomi’s list of unsupported devices, which has been updated this Tuesday and includes all devices that will not receive new software updates or security patches.

This means that all the terminals that appear there will reach the end of their useful life because they do not receive more support from MIUI or Android. These five new members in the Xiaomi list are the LITTLE X2; the Redmi K30; the Redmi K30 5G; the Redmi 8; and the Redmi 8A.

Xiaomi will start rolling out this software update with MIUI 14 to the company’s devices in China. At the moment, it has not confirmed if it will start updating smartphones globally.
