Wordle spin-offs are making money, with Quordle being the last to be acquired by Merriam-Webster.

Quordle, which is basically Wordle on steroids, lets you solve four words at a time and is a more challenging version of the popular word game.

You have four five-letter words to solve, and you have nine guesses to do it.

As you guessed, you will see which letters are in the solution, which letters are not, and whether letters are in the right place.

The game is now available directly on Merriam-Webster’s website and no longer on its own, as reported by TechCrunch.

“I can’t think of a better place for this game. There’s a lot of news and fun to come, so stay tuned!” said a tweet from his official Twitter account.

The same statement appears on the Quordle tutorial page on the Merriam Webster website, which is credited to Freddie Meyer, the creator of Quordle.

Merriam-Webster is the subsidiary of Encyclopaedia Britannica, best known for its online dictionary.

While the terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the Quordle website now redirects to its own section on the Merriam Webster website.

Last year, Wordle was picked up by the New York Times for a seven-figure sum and integrated into NYT’s portfolio of games.

Later, the media giant integrated Wordle into its crossword app and even turned Wordle into a physical board game.

Other Wordle spin-offs, such as the music guessing game Heardle, were acquired by music streaming giant Spotify last summer.
