They suffer their biggest fall: the sale of smartphones decreases almost 20%

According to the market intelligence agency IDC, the sale of cell phones smart phones have fallen 18.3% in the last quarter of 2022. And analysts forecast a recovery before 2024 will be difficult.

“The drop marks the largest drop in a single quarter and contributed to a sharp 11.3% drop for the year.”, he states on his website, IDC.

In 2022, the year closed with the sale of only 1,210 million units, which represents the lowest figure since 2013. And the reasons for this phenomenon are “reduced consumer demand, inflation and economic uncertainties”.

Popal, for his part, predicts that it will not be so easy to see a recovery in the cell phone sales market before 2024. Rising inflation and macroeconomic concerns will hold consumers back when it comes to spending.

It should be noted that Apple and Samsung are the ones that have lowered their sales the least, while Chinese companies have suffered the worst.
