Meet Digit, a near-humanoid robot designed to do human tasks

digit is a robot created in 2020 by Agility Robotics, a company specialized in the robotics sector. And since then, this robot has evolved to almost look like a human.

According to Xataka, Digit has been created to work like a human being and is able to function in work environments designed for people. This means that it is not necessary to change logistics processes or part of the infrastructure for its operation.

Also, this robot can walk, jump, bend down and, mainly, pick up or lower boxes and place them properly in one place.

Regarding its specifications, it weighs 65 kg, is 175 cm tall and can carry up to 15 kg. Also, it works for up to 24 hours without a break and, if it has reached its limit, it goes to a charging station itself.

A peculiar characteristic that can be observed of the Digit robot is that it has animated LED eyes that can blink and also show the direction it will take in order to improve interaction with people in a work environment.

On the other hand, Agility Robotics plans to deliver its first models at the beginning of 2024 and they assure that Digit will be well received in the logistics sector. In addition, the company affirms that its philosophy is based on creating machines that can accompany people at work but not replace them.
