The technological giant’s new bet consists of a conversational artificial intelligence system, based on the LaMDA language model. Unlike the OpenAI creation, Bard is always connected to the network, so it can deliver much more up-to-date data.

The OpenAI program language model, on the other hand, is based on GPT-4, an improved version of GPT-3. In contrast, Bard is powered by Lamda, the descendant of an earlier Google model that was never released to the public.

One of the engineers who worked on the latter language system even claimed that the responses were so convincing that he believed it had a conscience of its own. After Google denied these claims, he was fired from the company, according to the ‘BBC’.

So far, Bard is only available in English, which is a huge disadvantage compared to its competitor. ChatGPT is a multilingual chatbot that supports more than 50 languages, including Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Added to the list of differential factors is the age restriction. If the user is under 18 years of age and intends to use Bard, they will not be able to do so. The program is aimed at people who are of legal age.

Bard is an experiment, according to what Jack Krawczyk, Google’s senior director of products, told the BBC. Like any program, it will have to work on a series of challenges that include the theory that these systems could eventually replace Internet searches.
