Goodbye to bottled water? This invention produces drinking water using the sun and air

Access to drinking water is one of the most serious problems that will have to be faced. For this reason, as an alternative, this invention called the SunAir Fountain has emerged, which produces up to 20 liters of water taking advantage of the sun and the humidity of the air.

This technology was developed by the French company Agua de Sol, which uses renewable resources. For this, it has a one square meter water panel powered by solar energy.

Unlike solar panels, which produce electrical energy, this type of technology has the ability to capture moisture from the air and convert it into drinking water continuously, the El Español page reported. This would be a solution for families that resort to bottled water because they do not have a drinking water network.

These plates are known as hydropanel. Here’s how it works: When temperatures drop overnight and humidity rises, the board traps water vapor in its absorbent bed.

Then, with solar energy, the water vapor is released to be condensed by the cooler air. This process makes it possible to have two liters of drinking water per day for each panel. For a family of five people, you would need at least 20 liters (10 panels).

According to the information given by the company, the system can be placed on the roof, terrace or garden at home. Some conditions need to be met, such as a temperature of 30°C and a relative humidity of 80%. It has a useful life of 20 years.
