The news that the Windows 11 update will bring with Copilot and AI tools

Microsoft has announced that the next Windows 11 update will arrive next Tuesday, September 26, and with it will introduce new Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities with the Copilot assistant to enhance all the tasks that users carry out in Windows.

The company has stressed that it has started “the new era of AI”, which will change the way in which users relate to technology and will offer multiple benefits. In this sense, Microsoft already presented its new assistant powered by AI Copilot last May, after which it launched the public preview of this assistant in the Windows 11 Insider update for the month of June.

Now, Microsoft has announced that Copilot will come to Windows 11 in update 23H2, which will be released next Tuesday, September 26. With this integration, they will be combined “uniquely” the context and intelligence of the web, the users’ work data and the actions being carried out on the PC.

In this way, the aim is to provide better assistance to the user in their tasks, with privacy and security “spotlight”as Microsoft explained in a statement.

Specific, Copilot is an assistant that introduces AI directly into the Windows operating system and makes tasks easier for users through a chat and different tools and functions. ABOUT 150 NEW FEATURES

The technology company has also highlighted that the Windows 11 update is one of the “more ambitious given that will add about 150 new features thanks to the use of AI in applications such as Paint, Photos, the file explorer or Climpchamp.

As for Paint, as was recently revealed, Microsoft has improved its capabilities for drawing and digital creation. Through AI it has added functions such as background and layer removal, as well as a Cocreator preview.

Likewise, it has also introduced improvements to the photo ‘app’, with functions that help with image editing. For example, as detailed by Microsoft, with the Background Blur mode, users can make “with just one click” the main subject of a photo stand out more against the background by blurring it.

Searching for photos that have been stored in OneDrive accounts has also been improved. With this, the company aims to help users quickly find the desired image from the content of the photo. You can also find a photo based on the location it was taken.

Following this line, the new version of Windows includes new features in the Snipping Tool – the ‘app’ to take screenshots. Now, users will have more possibilities to capture content on the screen, as they will be able to copy text from an image to paste it into another application. In addition, it also makes it possible to protect confidential information from a capture, and another novelty is the incorporation of sound capture through audio and microphone compatibility.

As for Clipchamp, the Windows video editing tool, it is capable of helping the user by automatically suggesting scenes, edits and narrations based on images and sequences. Improvements have also been added to Notepad, which will automatically save session state, automatically restoring open tabs and unsaved content.

Microsoft has also announced a new version of Outlook for Windows, which allows you to connect and coordinate different accounts, whether Gmail, Yahoo or iCloud, in the same application. It also includes smart options to help you write emails as well as attach files from OneDrive.

File Explorer has been redesigned for Windows 11, with an updated address bar and search box to make it easier for users to access important content and “stay up to date with your activity”. NEWS IN BING AND EDGE

Microsoft has also announced new features in Bing and Edge, in order to improve the user experience with AI capabilities. These new features will be implemented soon.

So, Bing and Edge will offer personalized responses based on chat history. That is, when offering results the browser will take into account other searches previously made by the user to expand information. However, this function can be disabled at any time.

As Microsoft exemplifies, if the user has searched for the results of their favorite soccer team, when they ask about other topics, such as planning a trip, Bing will include information in the response about whether this team is playing in the destination in question .

Microsoft has also added new features for online shopping by introducing Copilot in Microsoft Shopping. Now, the user can search for products they want to buy on Bing or Edge, and Copilot will help them find those products. To do this, the search engine will ask the user more questions to obtain more information and refine the result of the product.

Additionally, the information from these questions will also be used to offer more personalized recommendations. Another advantage of this feature is that users will get recommendations for the best price.

Besides, the company has introduced the DALL.E 3 model of Open AI in Bing Image Creator. Thanks to this, users will be able to create improved images, with “more detail” and “more aesthetic“, according to Microsoft. Additionally, Microsoft Designer has been integrated directly into Bing to make the process easier.

Continuing with generative AI, with the update Microsoft will include content credentials for all creations that use AI in Bing. These credentials will be an invisible digital watermark detailing the time and date the content was created.

Finally, the technology company has made the Bing Chat Enterprise solution available in the Microsoft Edge mobile application. Now users will be able to “boost their creativity at work” with the ability to find information using images and creating them.

WHAT’S NEW IN MICROSOFT 365 COPILOT

The American company has also reported that, Starting November 1 of this year, enterprise customers will be able to start using Microsoft 365 Copilot.

In addition to all this, it has also announced a new experience in Microsoft 365 Chat, based on an assistant that is capable of unifying “the entire universe of data at work”with access to emails, meetings, chats or documents, among others.

As Microsoft has developed, with this experience, users will be able to carry out “tedious” work tasks such as writing a document, booking a business trip or summarizing emails.
