Xbox will block the use of unofficial accessories, that is, those that are not manufactured by Microsoft itself or by another hardware partner of the console that has a license for it.

The company explains on its support page that these accessories “may affect the gaming experience on Xbox consoles” and to determine if it is an official accessory, you must check if it includes the brand logo between the triggers and register it before use.

With this, he comments that The brand’s accessories are designed to be easily paired between the platform, PC and mobile devices. Likewise, it insists that with them you can access the Xbox Accessories application, as well as features such as button remapping, firmware updates and saving multiple profiles.

The company has now reported that it has begun implementing a notification that is displayed when users connect an unauthorized device to the console, which will result in error code 0x82d60002.

Once notified in this way, players will have “two weeks to use the accessory, after which its use with the console will be blocked”as clarified in a new note on the Support page.

With this, he has indicated that after those days, users will receive a new error code, 0x82d60003. Thereafter, Xbox recommends that those affected contact the store or manufacturer of said accessory to return it.
