Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was hospitalized in Mexico City on Wednesday. Conflicting reports suggest he suffered a stroke or dizziness.

The 73-year-old scientist and technology entrepreneur was apparently hospitalized after feeling “strange” after speaking at the World Business Forum in the Santa Fe district of the Mexican capital.

Event organizers did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, but an unnamed WBF source told CNN that Mr Wozniak, known as Woz, fainted during the event.

However, TMZ reported, citing sources with direct knowledge, that Wozniak ended his speech but then told his wife he felt “weird.” She reportedly insisted he go to the hospital.

According to the TMZ report, Wozniak may be suffering from dizziness.

According to the Mexican newspaper Reforma, Mr Wozniak is in a “stable” condition and is receiving “first-class treatment”.

His team will fly to Mexico City to determine whether he should be repatriated to the United States for further treatment.

In 1976, Mr. Wozniak — now worth an estimated $100 million — founded the fledgling Apple Computer with Steve Jobs, the celebrated investor and former Apple CEO who died in 2011.

Her company pioneered personal computing and became the world’s most valuable company, known for the design and functionality of a range of consumer electronics, including laptops and desktop computers, as well as the mobile iPhone.

People associated with Wozniak’s website woz.org did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
