Google has introduced in its version of Maps for Android a new ‘widget’ located in the upper left part that allows users to check the weather and air quality without leaving the application.
The company introduced this feature in an update to the application for iOS devices released in 2019, with a tab overlaid on the map that expanded information about the place you wanted to visit.

Google has continued working on this feature to bring it to Android devices, as recently reported by 9to5Google, which has noticed a ‘widget’ that indicates the time and level of air pollution.
This portal has commented that this data – which includes options such as rain or snow – is placed in a small rectangular box located in the upper left corner, below the search bar and the filtering options for places (restaurants, cafes, shops , etc.).
Once you click on this card, more time-related values are displayed, such as the expected maximum and minimum temperature, as well as the forecast for the next twelve hours.
This portal has highlighted that this climate information box will disappear the moment the user clicks on any point on the map being consulted or from the search engine options.
