This is the book that inspired the birth of Xiaomi and that talks about the success of Steve Jobs

Xiaomi is a technology brand that was born in China, founded by Lei Junbut its inspiration is found in a book that takes us to the Californian region of Silicon Valley, United States, to tell us about Steve Jobs.

Although they are now competitors, Xiaomi and Apple have a point in common. Jun has pointed out that reading a book changed his life and motivated him to work on the formation of the now technological reference.

A few years later, in 1987, the book would reach Lei Jun. “Fire in the Valley inspired me. If you have a dream, you can go after it and maybe you will end up creating a world-class company,” Jun said in Seizing the Opportune Moment, according to a report from Xiaomi World.

What is the book about? The text shows the rivalry between Apple Computer at that time and Microsoft and the path to the creation of the personal computer that Steve Jobs followed, and, in general, that of other companies in later editions.

“At the time I thought that Jobs and Gates were successful right out of school, so why couldn’t I? Just thinking about this made my blood race and I became dizzy,” says the Chinese businessman.

By the time he read the book, Jun was an electronic engineering student at Wuhan University. He would later work for important technology brands to found Xiaomi in 2010, which now has more than 33,000 employees worldwide.
