It was 2008 when Matt McCoy had problems with the hard drive on his Macbook Aira team that marked an entire era in Manzana when hard drives still had mechanical components.
Due to a failure in the memory system, McCoy had to go to an Apple Store where they told him that the part had to be changed.

A few days later the equipment was returned to him with a changed hard drive, recalls a report on the Applesfera website. But another problem began. McCoy had lost all of his work and the old hard drive was missing.
The store could not help him further and he went to Apple Care where they informed him that the part was on its way to the recycling center.
All seemed lost until he wrote an email to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Almost by intuition he wrote the email, without hope of being heard. The next day he received a call.
“Hi Matt. I’m Steve Jobs. I just wanted to tell you that I have received the email from him and that we will do everything possible to get your old repaired hard drive back,” the founder of the technology company told him.
The conversation was very brief. The day after the phone call, he was informed that the hard drive had been recovered. So he got all the work data from him.
