Google Meet introduces new immersive backgrounds with animations and lighting changes

Google has introduced a new catalog of immersive backgrounds for the Google Meet video calling application, intended for video and audio-only calls, which include small animations, such as changes in lighting or weather.

This new update of the applications allows to put in the background that represents the temperature of the place from which the user is making the video call, as well as the time zone according to its brightness, as indicated Google it’s a statement.

In this way, users will be able to connect with their contacts through these services and personalize their wallpaper. Your image will adapt to it, so that if you choose one in which there is sun or a powerful light source, the shadows will be modified according to the movements you make.

In addition to these funds, Google has presented a range of lighting and color filters that can be applied to these same backgrounds, including the classic black and white, gradient and silhouetted, as well as more stylized backgrounds.

Both backgrounds and styles are available in Google Meet from the web and can be added before starting the video call or during it, through its configuration panel.

These features will extend to business accounts and all Google Workspace customers, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers. However, users with personal accounts of Google they will not be able to access them. This feature is available now and will be rolled out gradually over the next 15 days.
