Minecraft | Community videos surpass 1 billion views on YouTube

YouTube announced that the content of Minecraft on its platform it reached a new unprecedented milestone of one trillion – or also one million million – views globally. And to celebrate, the platform created an animated 3D video set in a video game landscape, highlighting creators and key moments from the Minecraft community around the world.

Since the first video related to the video game appeared in 2009, its creators and content have grown to become one of the largest communities and have been a fundamental part in the constant growth of the ecosystem. In 2020, Minecraft was both the most popular and most watched game live on YouTube and currently has more than 35,000 active creator channels, representing more than 150 countries and territories, within the community.

To commemorate the one trillion milestone, YouTube is celebrating in a number of ways. In addition to the animated video that reflects the history of Minecraft on the platform, it will also highlight its growing community by implementing an animated graphic in the logo on the YouTube home page for 24 hours, something that will only be available in some countries, and will feature curated playlists celebrating some of the title’s greatest creators and moments.

Minecraft, a growing trend in Peru and the world

Since 2019, Minecraft-related videos generated more than 3 billion views globally on YouTube, of which 1.9 billion took place in 2021.
