Italy exceeds 150,000 deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic

The health authorities reported today that Italy has exceeded 150,000 deaths with coronavirus since February 2020, when the pandemic began in the country, while total infections are already approaching 12 million.

The death toll is 150,221, and the total number of infections is 11.9 million, reported the Italian Ministry of Health.

This Thursday, the regions reported 75,861 new positives and 325 deaths, while 137,221 were cured, which brings this figure closer to the 10 million total healed since February 2020.

The highest number of new positives has been recorded in Lombardy (north), 8,395, while Lazio (center), whose capital is Rome, has reported 8,133; and the rest of the regions have been below 7,000.

Italy It already has 91.29% of the population over 12 years of age vaccinated with at least one dose and 88.61% with the complete schedule, while 35.29% of children between 5 and 11 years of age have already received a puncture and 21.47% have completed the cycle.

The booster dose has already been given to 83.85% of those over twelve years of age who can receive it.
