Latino couple arrested for torturing their 5-year-old daughter to death in the US

The murder of Mercedes Losoya has caused a stir in U.S. The 5-year-old girl was tortured at the hands of her mother and her partner for weeks, according to authorities. The minor was taken to the hospital in an emergency, but she did not survive the multiple injuries that she had throughout her body.

Monday, katrina mendoza22, took her daughter to the Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, after she suffered blows and cuts in different parts of her body at the hands of her stepfather Jose Angel Ruiz25, noted the New York Post.

The minor was treated immediately, but did not survive.

TO Mercedes he was missing strands of hair, nails and teeth. He had visible bruises, scratches, cuts and swelling on various parts of his body. Initial police reports also noted that her hands were bruised and swollen from what appeared to be defensive injuries.

“The victim’s legs were covered in bruises, some of which appeared to be in a pattern, which is what is commonly seen when belts or other objects are used to inflict injuries,” the police pointed out.

Following the autopsy, authorities on Tuesday arrested Jose Angel Ruiz and two days later katrina mendoza.

In her first statements, the minor’s mother indicated that the mistreatment and torture began three weeks before her death. She revealed that she asked her partner for help to “correct” her daughter and the beatings became more and more violent.

In one of these “acts of discipline” Ruiz picked up dog feces and forced it into the girl’s mouth, while yelling at her. On another occasion, he soaked a stocking in urine and forced her to put it in her mouth.

When he pulled out the stocking, he did it with such violence that he knocked out two of his teeth.

The blows were also carried out with a leather belt or, on some occasions, he used his hands, on which he wore rings.

During their defense, the couple mendoza He denied at all times that he had caused the blows to the little girl and excused himself by pointing out that he only slapped her on the butt, and on some occasions made her keep her arms up.

Ruiz accused the sister of Mercedes, 6 years old, of having been the one who pulled out her hair. Currently she has been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The couple is accused of “serious injuries”, although the charges could change as the investigation progresses.
