The small Ukrainian drone that “changed the game” and worries Putin

In the midst of the war in Ukrainethe Ukrainian army is using different strategies in its battle for the skies and one of them is the “Punisher” electric drones, or in Spanish “Punisher”, which can carry 3 kilos of explosives and hit targets up to 30 miles behind the lines enemies, as published The Times of London.

“The Punisher”, from the Ukrainian company UA Dynamics, It has two main characteristics: it is light and economic. According Eugene Bulatsev, company engineer, and designer of electric drones, these “they changed the game”, and they already have successfully completed up to 60 missions since the start of invasion in Ukraine on February 24.

“This is the cheapest and easiest way to deliver a punch from a long distance, without risking civilian lives”, Bulatsev pointed out to The Times of London. And in that sense, the engineer clarified that electric drones have a wingspan of 7.5 feet, that is, almost two and a half meters, and can fly for three hours at 400 meters.

Bulatsev clarified that the drones only need to have the coordinates of their target to fulfill their mission automatically.

In another interview, to the site The Sun, the designer of the punisher specified that it is a drone “relatively small and light”, and undetectable by radars and in a sense he remarked that they have “wreaked havoc” behind the pro-Russian lines in Donbas for years. “Because the enemy has no idea what has hit them,” he completed in this regard.

“In addition, it can drop three bombs at once or hit three separate targets and then return to base to recharge and be sent back into battle in minutes,” the engineer added to The Sun.

The Ukrainian Army is also using the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drone, which deals considerable damage to units on the Russian side. Designed by the Baykar company in Turkey, these are a aircraft that is not manned by people, but it is armed with missiles.
