France sends 55 tonnes of humanitarian aid via Poland

Paris supports kyiv politically and also tries to help the entire Ukrainian population. France thus sent Monday 55 tons of medical equipment, computer, milk for children as well as generators to Ukraine via Poland, announced the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This emergency aid, worth 2.4 million euros, was sent by A330 cargo plane from Paris to Warsaw. “In conjunction with the Polish authorities, these materials will be handed over to the Ukrainian authorities without delay,” the ministry said.

Smartphones to maintain communications

The medical equipment – 10 tonnes in total – includes in particular ten oxygen generators intended for intensive care units as well as nine tonnes of medicines. France also sent 31 generators, including six high-capacity units, “intended to strengthen the electrical safety of Ukrainian health structures”. Eight tons of computer and communication equipment – smartphones, computers, routers as well as 60 km of optical fiber – must also contribute to ensuring the continuity of links and communications.

Local authorities and companies took part in the operation in the form of donations. Nine family tents of 42 m2 were also offered to the Polish Red Cross for the reception of Ukrainian refugees. Nearly 3.5 million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the Russian offensive, half of them to neighboring Poland.
