Russia tells the UN that it is not advancing faster in Ukraine “to save as many civilians as possible”

Russian forces are not advancing faster in Ukraine because they are trying to “save the maximum number of civilians,” the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said Tuesday at the Security Council, comparing the attitude of his soldiers to that of the Americans in Iraq and Syria, where “they crushed cities without compassion”.

Nebenzia He also assured that the Russian forces “did not come to conquer, but to bring the peace that Donbas (eastern and Russian-speaking region) so desperately needs. For this we have to eliminate, remove the Nazi tumor that consumes Ukraine and that it will try to consume Russia. And we will achieve that sooner or later, ”she warned.

The ambassador sent a message to the Ukrainians warning them that “Western countries do not care about Ukraine, it is just a pawn in the political game against Russia. They will sacrifice the country, while trying to prolong the conflict by handing over weapons”, he warned.

He assured that along with the Ukrainian soldiers there are “criminals, thieves and foreigners to whom they distribute weapons.”

In addition, he maintained that the images received of the massacres in Bucha, in the kyiv region, do not prove that they were committed by Russian soldiers, because according to his thesis – which he already expressed yesterday – it is impossible that the corpses have been so long abandoned in the streets without major signs of decomposition.

Actually, Nebenzia He countered these versions of Russian massacres in Ukraine with testimonies collected according to him by his soldiers among citizens of the pro-Russian provinces of Donbas (east) and who repeated the accusations of rape, torture and ill-treatment, but attributed to “Ukrainian radicals”.
