The videos that show the desperation of the population of Shanghai for the new confinement

In recent weeks, the coronavirus hit hard on China and the vast majority of infections are concentrated in Shanghai. For this reason, the authorities of this city indefinitely prolonged the confinement that they had decreed to stop the spread. The reaction of the population was immediate: hundreds of citizens went out to the balconies or leaned out of the windows of their homes to shout discontent with the measure, which also generates food shortages.

A Chinese epidemiologist took some images and sounds of the anger of the citizens of Shanghai who, shouting, complained about the lack of food and the “Covid zero” measures, including massive tests, which do not seem to end.

The local National Health Commission reported 27,595 new infections in the last 24 hours, a record number for the country since the pandemic began. This number includes 1.84 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 26,411 asymptomatic positives, which are counted separately in China, the Russian news portal Sputnik reported.

Before the massive protests for the new and rigid confinementChinese authorities announced today that they will gradually start allowing residents in areas with fewer cases to leave their homes, although it was not yet clear how many people will be able to leave their homes or when.

Part of the measures announced in the last few hours includes that residences in the city of Shanghai will be classified into three levels according to the number of infections. People in “closed control zones” or “controlled management zones” will continue to be confined to their homes or limited to their residences.

For their part, people in residential communities where no cases were recorded in the last 14 days will be able to leave their homes.
