The chief of the Russian General Staff visited the front in Ukraine, according to the Pentagon, which cannot confirm if he is injured

The chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, visited the battlefront in the region of donbasthe main objective of Moscow in its operations in the east of Ukrainesaid a Pentagon official on Monday, without confirming rumors that he was injured.

An adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, Anton Guerashchenkonoted on Sunday that many Russian officers had been hit in an “explosion” at Izium in eastern Ukraineand added that Valery Gerasimov was there then.

Another adviser to the Ministry of the Interior, Viktor Andrusiv, stated for his part on Ukrainian television that Gerasimov had not been injured.

Apparently he left the place before the bombing.

It is believed that Gerasimov walks the front lines to better understand the conditions on the battlefield.

Meanwhile, The shipment and delivery of weapons by the United States and its Western allies to Ukraine, such as heavy artillery, radar systems and attack drones, continues at an accelerating pacesaid the official.

Over the past 24 hours, two dozen flights carrying US weapons have landed near Ukraine and another 11 shipments are scheduled for the next 24 hours, authorities announced.

On top of that, 23 flights carrying weapons and battlefield supplies from five other Western countries have landed at key drop-off locations.
