The French railway company SNCF presented this Monday the livery of the future TGV M trains, its “train of the future”, which is expected in the second half of 2025. The future SNCF high-speed train will now be almost entirely white with hints of red. for logo and doors. “This train really has a face,” exclaimed the CEO of SNCF Voyageurs as he unveiled this new aesthetic in Belfort (East), where French railway manufacturer Alstom produces the engines for this new machine.
The state railways group spent 3.5 billion euros to buy 115 units of the train, which offers more seats and uses less energy than current TGVs. They will be delivered gradually in 2025 and 2026, and then, starting in 2027, at a rate of 12 per year. The TGV M will not go faster than the previous generation: maximum 320 km/h. “What will change is the location. We will have 20% more for the same length, but also more space per passenger,” says TGV head Alen Krakovic.
