Absence of Rodolfo Hernández in the debate: this was what the candidates for the presidency of Colombia said

In the middle of The Definitive Debate of EL TIEMPO, in alliance with the magazine Semana, with simultaneous transmission by Citytv, the presidential candidates Gustavo Petro, Sergio Fajardo and Federico Gutiérrez spoke about the absence of Rodolfo Hernández, who was invited to the meeting.

At the beginning of the broadcast, the general director of EL TIEMPO, Andrés Mompotes, pointed out that the candidate “He excused himself at the last minute from attending this debate, but we have the lectern available here as a sign that Colombians want to know how he defends his proposals before the other candidates.”

The first to speak about Hernández’s non-attendance at the conference was the candidate from the Centro Esperanza Coalition, Sergio Fajardo, who indicated that “Everyone is responsible for their actions, if they said they were going to be there, I’m sorry they’re not.”

For its part, Federico Gutiérrez indicated that he did “fulfills commitmentskeep your word and here we are ready to debate”.

The candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro, decided not to refer specifically to the absence of the former mayor of Bucaramanga and noted: “We finished our demonstrations and we are here ready for the debates.”
