The Russian general stated that the attacks will be carried out from the city of Shostka, in the northern region of Sumy, where the US weapons will arrive “soon”.

Ukraine “hopes to provoke the Russian Armed Forces into return fire, and then to accuse them of indiscriminate attacks on civilian infrastructure targets and the elimination of the Ukrainian civilian population,” it added.

Mizintsev assured that this information is the result of the analysis of the “reliable” information received by listening to the enemy’s radio communications.

US President Joe Biden announced in an opinion column published by The New York Times that Washington will send Ukraine High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS)which will allow attacks on targets located at a distance of up to 80 kilometers.

The Pentagon confirmed Wednesday that the HIMARS are already in Europe and that the Ukrainian military will take about three weeks to learn how to use them.

However, the US Secretary of State, Anatony Blinken, stressed that Ukraine has undertaken not to use such weapons against targets on Russian territory.

Russia, however, does not buy claims that HIMARS They will not be used against its territory and warned that their supply increases the risks of a direct confrontation between the two superpowers.
