Donald Trump strengthens ties with Japan’s prime minister

The president of United States, donald trumpand the Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abesought to strengthen diplomatic ties on Saturday through a round of golf in the state of Florida.

The leaders practiced their “swing” under almost clear skies at the Trump National Golf Club, in Jupiter, Florida. The White House did not immediately say if anyone else played with them, and reporters were not allowed to watch the match.

After four hours at the club, Trump posted a photo on Twitter with the Japanese prime minister on the golf course.

Abe traveled to Florida on Air Force One with the US president after a more formal meeting at the White House on Friday. The weekend date is the first he makes donald trump at its Mar-a-Lago resort with an international leader.

Washington and Tokyo have said that the trip to Florida is a sign of the importance that both leaders attach to the relationship between the United States and Japan.

Shinzo Abein particular, sought to ease concerns in Japan about the future of a decades-old alliance with the United States under the Trump administration, which had raised concerns over its remarks about US military spending in Tokyo during last year’s presidential campaign.

At a news conference on Friday, Trump and Abe focused on common ground. The US president dropped campaign promises to force Tokyo to pay more for US defense aid and Abe vowed to help his ally create jobs.

Friday night, donald trump and Abe ate with their wives on an outdoor patio at Mar-a-Lago. Both couples joined Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots of the American football league in the United States, a team that won the Super Bowl last Sunday.
