After knowing the sentence of an ordinary court of 10 years in prison against the former interim president Jeanine Añezjudged by the case “coup d’état II”organizations such as the National Council for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) announced protest mobilizations against this judicial decision.

To this is added the request of some opposition leaders such as former presidents Carlos Mesa, Jorge Quiroga and the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, so that the process against Añez is annulled after the observations made a few days ago by the special rapporteur for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers of the United Nations, Diego García-Sayán.

“These politicians who lost the election after looting the State and murdering our brothers, denounce an alleged “political interference” in justice, but they are the ones who pressure, threaten and attack judges to avoid answering for their crimes in court. ”Morales emphasized.

The Bolivian opponents described as “overwhelming” the position of García-Sayán who advocated a “judgment of responsibilities” in favor of Añez “regardless of how his mandate came about” and some asked that the international organizations that recognized the Government of Añez are also pronounced the same way.

Morales accused “some senators of the extreme right of the USA”, “racist politicians of the European parliament” and “fascist ex-presidents” having joined forces to “spreading lying communications” who seek to harm those he considered were the “coup victims” or the political crisis of 2019.

The former head of state assured that this action “intends to destabilize” the government chaired by Arce and summoned the related sectors of the ruling party “to stop this attack”.
