A man shot dead a woman and injured another, both workers of the popular fast food chain subwaybecause there was “too much mayonnaise” in his sandwich, confirmed Monday the police of Atlanta (Georgia).

The crime occurred on Sunday afternoon and, according to the town’s deputy police chief, Charles Hampton, a 36-year-old man was arrested near the restaurant.

The man “entered the restaurant, ordered a sandwich but did not like it and channeled his anger against two of the employees,” the officer explained at a press conference.

The victims are a 26-year-old woman, who died of gunshot wounds, and a 24-year-old woman, who is seriously injured in hospital.

In addition, present during the event was the 5-year-old son of the injured woman, who will have to receive therapy.

Hampton declared that he felt “frustrated” by the event, and asked that the focus be on gun violence and not on the specific detail of the mayonnaise.

That same day, US President Joe Biden signed a law, the result of a historic agreement between Democrats and Republicans, to strengthen gun control after the latest mass shootings in the country, such as the one at the Uvalde school (Texas). .
