The Police arrested Robert E. Crimo III, accused as the alleged perpetrator of the shooting that left 6 people dead and more than 36 injured during a parade for the 4th of July in Highland Park, Chicago.

Crimo would have used a rifle from a roof near the event and the authorities released his name a few hours later.

The ABC news network broadcast a video in which police officers detain the suspect in the middle of a highway. According to witnesses of the event, Crimo would not have offered resistance during the arrest.

“We are going to have to connect (the detainee) with the crime scene, we want to follow the proper process,” said Lou Jogmen, Highland Park Police Chief, according to the EFE agency.

Jogmen explained to reporters that Crimo will now be questioned by police to determine his connection to the shooting and that, if all goes smoothly, there will be no further press updates until tomorrow.
