Robert Crimo: 7 Murder Charges Filed Against 4th of July Shooting Suspect

The Lake County Prosecutor (IllinoisUnited States) presented this Tuesday seven charges of murder against the detainee for the 4th of July shooting outside of Chicagowhich resulted in seven dead and thirty wounded.

At a press conference, prosecutor Eric Rinehart announced that the 21-year-old suspect, Robert Crimowill face seven charges of first-degree murder – one for each fatality – and that more charges will be filed in the coming days in relation to the 39 people injured.

The state of Illinois, where the town of Highland Park is located, where the shooting took place, does not provide for the death penalty, and if the suspect is found guilty of all seven counts of murder, the law requires that the penalty be the life in prison without the possibility of parole, the prosecutor said.

Also this Tuesday, the Highland Park Police – which is north of Chicago, in Lake County – revealed that crime he spent weeks planning the shooting, and that he disguised himself in women’s clothing so as not to arouse suspicion during his escape.
