Delivery of Israeli arms to Ukraine would “destroy” the Russia-Israel relationship, according to Dmitri Medvedev

The former Russian president and current number two of the Security Council, Dmitri Medvedev, warned Israel against the delivery of weapons to Ukraine, considering that it would “destroy” the relationship with Russia.

“Israel appears to be preparing to hand over weapons to the kyiv regime. It is a very reckless move. It will destroy all bilateral relations between our countries.” considered in his Telegram account.

Medvedev reiterated the accusations of “Nazism” towards Ukraine, one of the justifications that Moscow gave to explain the assault on its neighbor.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesman, Yair Lapid, told AFP that his cabinet would not comment on Medvedev’s statements.

Ukraine has urged Israel to support it against Russia, even though the Israeli and Russian authorities maintain close relations.

Until now, the Israeli authorities have limited themselves to cooperating with Ukraine with humanitarian aid and deliveries of non-lethal material to maintain their relationship with Moscow.

Israel has also become a haven for Kremlin critics, with even some famous Russians settling in the country since the Russian offensive began on February 24.
