Borrell asks Russia to “reverse” the suspension of the pact to export grain from Ukraine

The high representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Borrellurged this Sunday to Russia to “reverse” its decision to suspend the agreement for the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

”Russia’s decision to suspend its participation in the Black Sea agreement puts at risk the main export route of much needed grains and fertilizers to address the global food crisis caused by its war against Ukraine”wrote the politician on his Twitter profile.

”The EU urges Russia to reverse its decision”, completed the former Spanish minister.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Saturday the suspension of the agreement for the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea after an attack on Sevastopol.

Defense explained the decision with the “terrorist attack” perpetrated this Saturday with the “involvement of British specialists” against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and the merchant ships that guarantee the maritime corridor for the export of grain.

Russia denounced on Saturday a massive attack with drones and unmanned aquatic devices against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels that were in the internal and external roadsteads of the Sevastopol base.
