‘Dibu’ Martínez reassures Argentina after injury at Aston Villa: “It was just a scare”

Emiliano Martínez was in charge this Sunday of turning off the alarms that had gone off in the Argentina team, a few weeks before the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after a blow to the head that forced him to leave the field in the match between Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Through his Twitter account, the popular ‘Dibu’ sent a reassuring message to the ‘Albiceleste’ coach, Lionel Scaloni, and to his country in general. “Thank you all for the messages. It was just a scare and I’ll be ready for the next match”, wrote the Argentine goalkeeper.

‘Dibu’ Martínez felt after a clash with his partner Tyrone Mings. For this reason, the 30-year-old athlete was replaced by Sweden’s Robin Olsen at minute 35, when the result was a goalless draw at St. James’ Park.

In the end, Martínez’s team fell thrashed 4-0 and kept their twelve points, in the sixteenth box, close to the direct relegation zone of the English league. The annotations of the ‘Magpies’, that is to say, were by Callum Wilson (45’+6 and 56′), Joelinton (59′) and Miguel Almirón (67′).

Rivals and fixture of Argentina in the World Cup

Before beginning its participation in the World Cup, Argentina will face the United Arab Emirates in a friendly on November 15. After that, the ‘Albiceleste’ will make its debut in Group C of Qatar 2022 against Saudi Arabia, on November 22. Their next rivals will be Mexico (11/26) and Poland (11/30).
