November: In 1922 the location of Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt is discovered

The discovery that dazzled the world

The beginning of an endless conflict

The November 29, 1947the Assembly of the United Nations approved by two thirds of votes the partition plan for Palestine into two independent states: one Arab and the other Jewish. 33 nations voted in favor of this decision, 13 against and 10 abstained. The international organization also arranged for England to leave the territory before August 1, 1948. The Arabs rejected the plan, but the Jews founded the State of Israel on May 14, 1948. The next day the first war between Israelis and Arabs broke out.

The black sea caused by the ‘Prestige’

An approximate of 77 thousand tons of fuel were those that the ship ‘Prestige‘ poured on the Spanish coasts the November 13, 2002. When she was heading to Gibraltar, the boat sank and the oil affected some 745 beaches, most of the Galician coast. The tanker, flying the flag of the Bahamas, was hit by a storm that caused a crack in its hull. A few days later, numerous marine species appeared covered with fuel on the Spanish coast.
