Forbes magazine published this week the list of the 13 celebrities who generate the most money in the world after death.
In the group are athletes, artists and entertainers whose income -despite being in the cemetery- reached the figure of $1.6 billion this 2022.

According to the publication, which began in 2001 to investigate the finances of dead celebrities, this year’s earnings increased by 72% compared to 2021, which is a record.
To make the list, the magazine indicated that it took into account sales taxes, transfers and license agreements. They also did interviews with industry experts.
The one who leads the group is the famous writer J. R. R. Tolkien, who is the author of the “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” sagas. The former Oxford professor passed away in 1973, but the intellectual property rights to his films, video games and other fantasy-related products continue to make money.
