Putin backtracks on the mobilization of students from Donetsk and Lugansk

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putinordered the demobilization of the students of the so-called popular republics of Donetsk Y luhansk called up before its annexation by Moscow, the Kremlin reported today.

“Putin commissioned the demobilization of the students and organizing their return to the study centers”said the spokesman of the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskovquoted by the Interfax agency.

He added that the militias of Donetk and Luhansk were integrated into the Russian Armed Forces after the incorporation of these entities into the Russian Federation on September 30.

The pro-Russian authorities of the so-called people’s republics ordered a general mobilization on February 19 of this year, five days before Russia launched its “special military operation” in Ukraine.

All men between the ages of 18 and 27 were called up and those up to 55 years of age were prohibited from leaving the territory of the separatist entities.
