US Investigates Death of Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in Israel Despite Government Denial

Israel confirmed Monday that the Justice Department of USA has launched an investigation into the shooting death of the journalist from Al Jazeera Shireen Abu Aklehdescribed the investigation as a “serious mistake” and promised not to cooperate.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantzmade the statement on Twitter, saying that Israel has made it clear to the United States “that we will not cooperate with any external investigation”.
