Mexico: Two dead and seven injured after clash of the National Guard in Chiapas

A car accident National Guard (GN) mexican left two dead and seven injured, including four members of this security force, in the state of Chiapasin the southeast of the country.

According to information from the Red Cross of Mexico, the accident occurred at kilometer 29 of the Ocozocoautla-Arriaga de Chiapas highway at the height of the municipality of Jiquipilas, where a call for help alerted the emergency forces, who went to the scene of the accident. the facts.

The accident was carried out by a National Guard van belonging to the 20th GN Battalion in Chiapa de Corzo, which collided head-on with a white car.

Two of the occupants of the white vehicle died instantly from the collision, including a 10-year-old minor, who was traveling with his family, and his grandfather Moisés Castillo López.

According to the eyewitnesses, the driver of the National Guard truck entered the opposite lane, colliding head-on with the white car and the occupants were trapped between the twisted pieces of metal.

The Mexican Red Cross treated the seven survivors of the accident and transferred them to the Cintalapa hospital, where three of the civilians remain in serious condition with internal bleeding.

Elements of the National Guard, the Mexican Army and ministries of the State Attorney General’s Office attended the area of ​​the accident.

The National Guard is a security body created by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that has aroused controversy because the president promised to keep it civilian, but this year he transferred it to military control.
