MiG-31 fighter crashes in Russia’s Far East

A MiG-31 fighter of the Air Force of Russia It crashed today in the Primorye region, in the extreme east of the country, and its two pilots managed to catapult themselves from the device, the Oriente military district reported.

The accident occurred during an unarmed training flight, according to the military statement.

“The plane fell in a desert, without causing destruction on the ground. According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident could have been a technical malfunction.” added the press release, which did not specify the status of the pilots.

The MiG-31, a modification of the MiG-25, with a unit cost of up to 60 million dollars, is a two-seater interceptor designed by the Mikoyan house that began to be manufactured in the late 1970s in the Soviet Union.

Ukrainian shelling in Donetsk
