Ukraine reports missile attacks in Zaporizhzhia and at least two dead

Ukrainian authorities today reported several Russian missile attacks in the region of Zaporizhzhyawhere the largest nuclear power plant in the country is located and which has produced at least two deaths.

Several buildings have been destroyed, according to the Ukrainian news portal Ukrinform, citing military sources in the region, in the southeast of Ukraine.

A spokesman for the mayor’s office Zaporizhzhya had previously reported, through a Telegram account, successive explosions on the outskirts of the city.

In kyiv, anti-aircraft alerts were activated at mid-morning on Monday and urged the population to go to shelters or stay in safe places, according to Ukrinform.

The head of the regional military administration, Oleksi Kuleba, urged for his part not to disseminate information on the situation in the city on social networks and to scrupulously follow the indications of official sources.

In parallel, Russian missile attacks were reported in other parts of the country, such as in the Sumy region, in the east, where in addition to the anti-aircraft alarms, an emergency power cut was carried out.

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Yuri Ignat, reported for his part that new waves of attacks by Russia against critical infrastructures such as those that have been taking place since mid-October.
