The government of USA recognized this Wednesday Dina Boluarte as the new president of Peru, replacing Pedro Castillodismissed by the Congress of the South American country and who is under arrest.
In response to a question from EFE, a spokesman for the US State Department said that the Government “celebrates” the appointment of Boluarte as president and he wants to start working with her and her Administration.

Also, the spokesperson praised Peru’s civil institutions and authorities for “ensuring democratic stability.”
boluarte swore this Wednesday before the plenary session of Congress as the first female president in the history of Peru, after the dismissal of Castillo, accused of carrying out a coup.
Castillo was arrested after being dismissed after trying to dissolve the Legislative and call a constituent process to avoid a political trial against him.
The gesture of Castle was rated as coup by members of his own government and was rejected by the Armed Forces and the Police.
