Colombia: ELN releases two minors it had under its power on the border with Venezuela

The minors were handed over to a humanitarian mission made up of the Ombudsman’s Office, the Diocese of Arauca of the Catholic Church and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), after being kidnapped by the guerrillas on November 24.

After receiving them, the mission activated the protection route and will hand over the two minors to the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF), which will carry out the administrative process to restore their rights.

In this line, Camargo valued the release and stressed the importance of the illegal armed groups having peace gestures that favor the dialogues promoted by the President’s government Gustavo Petro.
