The total number of people affected by covid-19 in the country since the pandemic was decreed in Argentina is 9,829,236, of which 130,080 died from the disease.

Specifically, this week 39 people lost their lives due to covid-19, 20 of them in the province of Buenos Aires and 9 in the capital of the country.

The government of the city of Buenos Airess reported days ago that it will enable new vaccination centers against coronavirus, due to the increase in infections experienced in recent weeks.

In this context, the capital added three vaccinations to the nine operations to date, with the aim of applying booster doses in priority groups: people over 50 years of age, immunosuppressed people from 12 years of age and people who received their last dose or they transited the disease more than four months ago.

The opening of new vaccination centers in Buenos Aires takes place in a context of a sharp increase in the number of infections in Argentina since the beginning of December.

However, and thanks to the high percentages of the population vaccinated, growth has not had much of an impact on the number of deaths (39 this week) or intensive care hospitalizations (342).

The South American country has a total of 9,829,236 cases and 130,080 deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, according to the latest data from the national Ministry of Health.
