Putin will set Russian army targets for 2023 on Wednesday

The Russian President, Vladimir Putinwill set the objectives of his army in 2023 in a meeting with senior military commanders scheduled for this Wednesday, the Kremlin announced on Tuesday, in the ninth month of offensive in Ukraine.

Some 15,000 officials of the Russian army will participate in this meeting by videoconference, according to the presidency.

putin admitted on Tuesday that the situation was “extremely difficult” in the four southern and eastern Ukraine regions that Moscow claims to annex (Donetsk, luhanskKherson and Zaporizhia), despite not fully controlling them.

Russia, which launched its offensive in Ukraine in Februaryhas suffered a series of military setbacks in recent months that have forced it to withdraw from the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine and the city of Kherson in the south.
