The pet, a four-month-old corgi/blue heeler mix, went missing after his owner Alyssa Reeve was driving home for Christmas from the University of Wyoming on Friday, December 16.

Reeve hit a patch of black ice on the road and lost control of his truck, which flipped on its side, during which Squid jumped out of a broken window. Reeve and a police officer tried to find him before she decided to drive back to her house in California.

The young woman posted about her dog hoping someone on social media would see it. About 10 minutes from the accident site, Condos, an animal lover, saw the post and, together with her mother, went to the accident site to look for him.

Reeve and Condos did not know each other before the rescue, KUTV reported. “I’m so thankful someone took the time to go look for him,” Reeve said.
