US serial murder suspect adds four more charges

Wesley Brownlee, 43, charged with three counts of murder in connection with a series of murders that occurred in Californiawas charged this Tuesday with four more counts of homicide, local media reported.

Last October, Brownlee was charged with the deaths of Jonathan Hernández Rodríguez, 21; Juan Carlos Carranza Cruz, 52, and Lorenzo López, 54.

Police considered Brownlee a suspect in three other murders.

This Tuesday, the San Joaquin County Prosecutor’s Office charged Brownlee with the murder of four other victims: Juan Alexander Vasquez, Mervin Harmon, Paul Yaw, and Salvador Debudey Jr.

He was also charged with the attempted murder of Natasha LaTour.

The defendant was arrested in the early hours of October 15 “while he was hunting” his next victim, Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden said at the time of his arrest.

The Stockton Police Department had offered a reward of more than $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in the deaths of five men ages 21 to 54 in less than three months.

The murders occurred between July 8 and September 27 of this year, during the night or in the early hours of the morning. All the victims were male and all were alone at the time they were fatally shot, police said.

Hernández Rodríguez was assassinated on August 30, Cruz was found dead on September 21, and López was murdered on September 27 in the city, located in the north of the state.

Yaw, 35, and Salvador Debudey Jr., 43, were killed last July.

The murder of Vásquez on April 10, 2021 was also included in the Police investigation, which considered that the person responsible was a serial killer.

The date Harmon was killed was not released.
