“Moscow strongly condemns the actions of the instigators of the disorders in Brazil,” said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov.
He added that Russia supports “actions to restore order and legality” in the Latin American country.
“We fully support Brazilian President Lula da Silva,” he said.
He also highlighted the contribution of the Brazilian president to the development of bilateral relations.
This Sunday, supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro invaded the headquarters of Parliament, the Presidency and the Supreme Court, calling for military intervention with a coup against Lula da Silva.
Other radicals have camped in the last two months at the gates of the military barracks in various cities to demand a military “intervention” to prevent Lula’s inauguration, which took place on January 1.
Bolsonaro, a retired Army captain, is currently in the United States, where he traveled two days before Lula’s inauguration, to whom he did not hand over the post of president, with no official forecast to return to the country.
